On Friday the 29th April, we welcomed Hon Reece Whitby, Minster for Environment and Climate Action to the East Rockingham project site.  The Minister was very generous with his time and we discussed the many benefits of the project, including the substantial greenhouse gas savings by diverting waste from landfill and offsetting fossil fuel usage in power generation.  Importantly, we discussed how the project will assist the State Government to reach the targets in the Waste Strategy 2030.  Waste to energy needs to work in harmony with waste reduction and best practice resource recovery and East Rockingham is poised to deliver on this commitment.
